Recombinant Human Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme 2 (ACE2)

Recombinant human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) extracellular domain (18-615) was expressed in CHO cells using a C-terminal Fc tag.

Predicted Molecular Mass: The recombinant ACE2 (aa 18-615) Protein consists of amino acids 18 – 615 of the ACE2 extracellular domain and predicts a molecular mass of 130 kDa.
2019-nCoV Amino Acids: 18 – 615 of the ACE2 extracellular domain (Accession Number: AF291820)

Purity: >95 % as determined by densitometry.
Tag: C-terminal Fc-tag
Concentration: 0.2μg/μl
Endotoxin: <1.0 EU per μg protein as determined by the LAL method.
Activity: Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized human ACE2(18-615) protein (Fc tag) at 2μg/ml (100μl/well) can bind to 2019-nCoV Spike (S) protein RBD (His tag).
Expressed Host: CHO Cells
Species: 2019-nCoV, SARS-CoV-2
Predicted Molecular Mass: The recombinant ACE2 (aa 18-615) Protein consists of amino acids 18 – 615 of the ACE2 extracellular domain and predicts a molecular mass of 130 kDa.
2019-nCoV Amino Acids: 18 – 615 of the ACE2 extracellular domain.
Formulation: Recombinant protein stored in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 90mM glycine.
Shipping: Liquid proteins- shipped on Dry Ice.
Lyophilised proteins- shipped at ambient temperature.
Storage: Unopened protein vials should be stored at –70°C. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favourable performance, repeated handling and multiple freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided.
Regulatory/Restrictions: For Research Use Only.

The Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme 2 (ACE2) belongs to the Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) family of Dipeptidyl Carboxydipeptidases. ACE2 cleaves the Angiotensin I and Angiotensin II to counterbalancing ACE activity in the regulation of renin angiotensin system (RAS). ACE2 also plays a pivotal role in the regulation of cardiovascular, renal and reproductive systems. Besides, it is a functional receptor for the Spike glycoprotein (S) of SARS-CoV, HCoV-NL63, and SARS-CoV-2, which causes the pandemic of the respiratory diseases (COVID-19).

ACE2 extracellular domain (18-615) binds to the SARS Coronavirus 2 (Cov-2) receptor binding domain (RBD). It is expressed in CHO cells and purified to greater than 95% purity. As a result it is a very useful tool in search of COVID19 conditions.

Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized human ACE2(18-615) protein (Fc tag) at 2μg/ml (100μg/well) can bind to 2019-nCoV Spike Protein RBD (His-tag).
The purity of ACE2 was determined to be >95% by densitometry, approximately MW 130 kDa.
